SEATRU Turtle Lab

NOTICE

Dear Valued Guests,

We are pleased to announce that we have reopened our doors to welcome new check-ins!

Following the recent Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) announcement and in accordance to the Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the Malaysian National Security Council, only limited services and facilities are permitted to further curb the outbreak of COVID-19.

Facilities such as swimming pool, gym and spa are temporarily suspended until further notice. For restaurants that open during this period, we have adopted strict hygiene measures in compliance with the guidelines recommended under the CMCO. Alternatively, à la carte menu is available for in-room dining and takeaway.

In addition, we have implemented new cleanliness protocols and specific initiatives as part of our Clean & Safe Commitment to further enhance safety and minimize risk for our guests and associates. We seek your kind cooperation in practising social distancing and complying with our safety measures during your stay.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition. Stay safe!

SEATRU Turtle Lab
Opening Hours
Closed until 30 April 2020. Reopens on 1 May 2020.

SEATRU Turtle Lab at The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort was launched in 2018 to provide sea turtle conservation and to educate guests on the plight of the sea turtle. The lab is managed by The Taaras’ very own marine biologist who works with a team of SEATRU Scientists and trained research assistants from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

Guests will be guided through the sea turtle life cycle from nesting and hatching through to species identification, measuring and tagging sea turtles, and understanding natural predators.

During the hatching season, guests are able to experience hatchlings being released into the sea.
