Cardiff City football club is a professional association football club that was founded in 1899 as Riverside A.F.C and changed its name to Cardiff City in 1908. The club joined the English football league system in 1910, competing in the Southern Football League before joining the Football league in 1920. The club is based in the city of Cardiff, Wales, UK and it is currently owned by Tan Sri Vincent Tan.
